Brett Anderson back surgery

Anderson complained of back pain early in camp and required surgery that will keep him out for about half of the season. The Dodgers did add significant pitching depth this offseason, helping offset the loss.

Arroyo was giving it one more go this spring following Tommy John surgery. He thought his career was over after being diagnosed with a completely torn rotator cuff, but it was discovered the tear wasn't as bad as initially thought. He's still been shut down and won't throw until around Opening Day.

The Dodgers were counting on Bolsinger to replace Brett Anderson in their rotation, but a mild oblique strain will keep him out for the beginning of the year. The team hopes to get him back sometime in April.

Tampa Bay was counting on Boxberger to close games this season, especially after trading Jake McGee in the offseason. Boxberger will miss all of April after core muscle surgery, testing the team's depth.
