The New York Yankees have been one of the best teams in terms of hitting for power, so it is only fitting that one player of the team will be entering the 2025 Homer Run Derby. The field of eight is now officially set, so let’s take a deeper dive into which New York Yankees hitter is entering the derby and what we know about the event now that the participants are officially announced.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. has been one of the top hitters in the New York Yankees lineup on a consistent basis and now will be representing the team in the 2025 Home Run Derby. He previously mentioned not being asked about being a participant but wanting to compete in the event and now is the eighth and final participant in this year’s event in Atlanta. The All-Star is going to be competing against a lot of incredible power hitters and the brackets have not been released at this point. Below are the eight competitors in this year’s event.
The 2025 Home Run Derby will take place on Monday at 8 p.m. ET. The New York Yankees have not had a Home Run Derby winner since Aaron Judge won the 2017 edition in his rookie season. It will be interesting to see how Chisholm’s swing looks in a home run derby setting as he is not known as a power hitter but has already hit 17 home runs this season.
