The Baltimore Orioles will play the Texas Rangers on Monday night. Ahead of the game, the team announced an injury update, via Jacob Calvin Meyer.

"Orioles reliever Andrew Kittredge is scheduled to begin his rehab assignment Wednesday in Norfolk, the club said. Kittredge has a max of 30 days to ramp back up, but it might not take that long," Calvin Meyer reported.

Kittredge is dealing with a shoulder injury. He is seemingly on track to return soon barring any setbacks.

The Orioles are hoping to get healthy soon overall. The team believes its bullpen can make a significant impact in 2025, and Kittredge will certainly help in that regard.

Andrew Kittredge Could Return to Orioles Soon

Kittredge, 36, is a veteran who has pitched at the MLB level since 2017. The right-handed reliever has been reliable for the most part in his career, as he holds a 3.43 ERA in the big leagues.

Kittredge played in Tampa Bay with the Rays from 2017-2023. He enjoyed a number of good seasons in Tampa Bay, even earning an All-Star selection in 2021 after pitching to a 1.88 ERA.

He spent 2024 in St. Louis with the Cardinals before pitching for both the Orioles and Chicago Cubs in 2025. The right-hander ultimately turned in a 3.40 ERA across 54 total 2025 outings. With the O's, he recorded a 3.45 ERA in 31 appearances.

Kittredge is now set to impact the Orioles once again in 2026. While he began the season on the IL, he should still be able to help matters in a crucial manner throughout the 2026 MLB season.

Baltimore's 2026 Bullpen

The Orioles bullpen should be a strength in 2026.

Ryan Helsley is set to lead the way as the closer. Relievers such as Yennier Cano and Tyler Wells will play important roles as well. There are some questions, but the O's should be able to find success in the bullpen.

Of course, Andrew Kittredge's injury return will be important. He will immediately give the team a veteran reliever who the Orioles know they can trust. Pitchers like that are rare to find.

The Orioles will continue to monitor and provide updates on Kittredge's injury status as they are made available. As for the Rangers and Orioles game on Monday night, first pitch is scheduled for 6:35 PM EST in Baltimore. Both teams are 2-1 overall, so the contest projects to be competitive.
