The San Diego Padres have had a truly incredible start to the season. At the time of this writing, they sport a perfect 7-0 record and are undoubtedly creating more hype surrounding them in the process. This is especially so when noting that they started their season off with a four-game sweep against the Atlanta Braves.

Following their sweep of the Braves, the Padres then swept the Cleveland Guardians in their three-game series. Now, the Padres' goal will be to stay hot when they kick off their series against the Chicago Cubs on Friday.

The Padres have now made a roster move leading up to their upcoming game against the Cubs. The team announced that pitcher Jhony Brito has been moved to the 60-day injured list.

Brito has been out since Spring Training after being shut down from throwing due to a forearm strain. Now, after being transferred to the 60-day injured list, the right-hander will not return until at least late May.

Brito, 27, appeared in a career-high 26 games this past season with the Padres, posting a 1-2 record, a 4.12 ERA, and 29 strikeouts. This was after he recorded a 9-7 record, a 4.28 ERA, and 72 strikeouts in 25 appearances during his rookie season with the New York Yankees in 2023.
