The Philadelphia Phillies and the rest of the MLB are getting ready to report to spring training and get the 2026 season underway. These are ten prospects who can help the Phillies this year and well beyond.
Moises Chace was acquired from the Baltimore Orioles a few years ago in a trade involving Gregory Soto. Chace was viewed as a project piece who was more towards the bottom of Baltimore’s Top-30 prospect list. He has completely outperformed expectations in Philadelphia and has gained top-ten prospect-level hype. He is coming off a major injury, so his return will be one to watch. If he can get back to the levels he was at previously, he could be ranked even higher.
Matthew Fisher was an absolute steal in this last season’s draft. He was left on the board in the seventh round after being projected to go in the first two rounds. Many expected that he had informed teams that he wasn’t going to sign, and so he would just remain on the board throughout the draft. The Phillies took a swing and were able to sign him to an extremely over-slot deal. It will be very interesting to see how he progresses through the minor leagues.
Gabriel Rincones Jr. is the first player on these rankings who could contribute as soon as this season. He has shown legit power in the minors and would likely be one of the first names called upon should there be an injury in the outfield. He is a definite question mark when it comes to how he’ll perform in the majors, but they need to figure it out at some point.
Dante Nori has simply not lived up to the standards first-round picks are held to. He was considered a reach at the time, and it is becoming clear why. It is not that he is a bad ball player, but he is not worthy of a first-round pick. Nori is still a top-10 prospect who could turn into a solid outfielder for Philadelphia in a few years. It’s just that when drafted that high, they are looking for more than just solid.
Aroon Escobar has a wide disparity when it comes to his ranking in the Phillies system. He could’ve been as high as four, but there are inconsistencies in his game that make some question that high praise. Regardless, he is a near top-100 prospect with potential be the next 2B in Philadelphia or a key trade piece to fetch them a big-time player at the deadline.
Gage Wood was the hottest name in the college baseball world during last season’s playoffs. He threw an incredible 19-strikeout no-hitter in the college World Series. His fastball is special, and his secondary pitches don’t fall too far behind. He is expected to blitz through the minor leagues and have an impact for the Phillies sooner rather than later.
Francisco Renteria is the most recent international signing for Philadelphia. The number three-ranked international free agent signed with the Phillies for $4.5 million. Despite being just 17 years old, he clearly has some incredible pop in his bat. Scouts are already labeling him as a 30+ home run hitter in the MLB.
Justin Crawford is being given the reins in the outfield before he has even set foot on an MLB field. He is expected to be the opening day centerfielder for Philadelphia. His speed is unquestionable, his defense is great, and the only question is whether his hitting tools translate to the MLB. His extreme ground ball rate has drawn question marks, but the Phillies do not seem panicked. They believe his speed and continued growth will make him a very capable batter in the major leagues.
Andrew Painter has had the top spot reserved for the past few seasons, but this year is different. He is coming off a pretty poor return season following Tommy John Surgery. The Philadelphia organization is not worried in the slightest, and he is still an integral part of the team’s future. He is expected to make the opening day roster and be in the rotation for the majority of the 2026 season.
Aidan Miller has received some of the highest praises anyone will get in the Phillies organization. He was touted as the best position player prospect in the organization since the great Mike Schmidt. His contact, power, and speed make him a fantastic all-around player. The main question now is where he will play in the MLB. With SS locked up long term, the expectation for Miller is either 3B or 2B, depending on what happens with Alec Bohm and Bryson Stott.
Philadelphia isn’t typically the team with a great farm system, but that has drastically changed at the top of these lists. It now has multiple top 100 prospects despite trading some over the past couple of years. These players will help the team have success in the immediate and long-term future.
