Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper is amid a strong 14th MLB campaign. An eight-time All-Star and two-time league MVP, Harper entered Tuesday's game against the Atlanta Braves with an .823 OPS and eight home runs. These numbers are down from his career averages, but still make him one of the league's premier left-handed sluggers.
In his first at-bat against Braves right-hander Spencer Strider on Tuesday, Harper took a 95.3 MPH fastball to the elbow. The hit by pitch forced him to exit the game, sparking understandable concern among Phillies fans who have been eagerly awaiting an official update from the team.
Just two innings after Harper's removal, the Phillies announced an update. Per the team, he left the game with a right elbow contusion and X-Rays came back negative (via B/R Walk-Off on X).
Harper has appeared in 54 games this season, and while it remains to be seen if he will miss time with this injury, it seems he has avoided anything too serious.

As for Strider, he is appearing in just his third game of the season. A 2023 All-Star, Strider entered Tuesday having pitched 9.1 innings this season while surrendering six earned runs. For his career, the 26-year-old is 32-12 with a 3.53 ERA.
Missing in with his fastball, Strider sent a wave of concern throughout Philadelphia, but Phillies fans have been put at ease by the team's announcement that X-Rays are negative for Harper. Atlanta and Philadelphia will play the second contest of this three-game series on Wednesday night.
