One of the most dominant stories from the first series of the 2025 MLB season has been the New York Yankees' use of torpedo bats.

After hitting 15 home runs in three games, all the attention went toward the new bats the Yankees used in their offensive onslaught against the Milwaukee Brewers.

According to Fox 29 Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Phillies are considering using the torpedo bats. In an interview with Victus Sports in King of Prussia, Doug Trimble, the Marketing Director, alluded to the potential for the torpedo bats to appear at Citizens Bank Park.

"Some Phillies have called, you may have some torpedos at the Citizens Bank Park this week."

Trimble also said that Bryce Harper "maybe" could use a torpedo bat in the Phillies' first home series of the season against the Colorado Rockies.

Devan Kaney of 94 WIP asked Bryson Stott if the Phillies have talked about using the bats in games. "A little bit yeah. I texted Jared at Victus [about the torpedo bats]."

Stott mentioned that torpedo bats aren't for everyone, especially those who typically hit balls off the end of the bat. But he did mention that they're great for those who get jammed often.

Phillies manager Rob Thompson was also asked about the torpedo bats. In a video from Kaney of 94 WIP, Tompson said that hitting coach Kevin Long has "made a couple of calls."

After the Yankees' home run barrage against the Brewers, the torpedo bats many of the players used sparked interest from players, fans, and media alike.

Victus made the torpedo bats that Anthony Volpe of the Yankees used, and many other Yankees hitters followed suit. One was Jazz Chisholm Jr., who hit three home runs in as many games to start the season.

With their 15-home run outburst, including a nine-home run game against the Brewers, the baseball world is abuzz about the innovative bats.

Despite many questions surrounding their legitimacy, MLB officials say the bats are legal.  Torpedo bats have a thicker barrel, where more wood is moved towards the bat's label, allowing for increased 'barrels' and decreased swings and misses.

Victus Sports has received calls to send torpedo bats to the Phillies. The Phillies have expressed interest in using the torpedo bats, and the new-look bats could appear at Citizens Bank Park during the Phillies' first home series against the Rockies.

According to Ben Silver, Digital Editor for Main Line Today and author at The Good Phight, Bryce Harper, Alec Bohm, Bryson Stott, and Brandon Marsh placed orders for torpedo bats with Victus.

Bohm was seen using the torpedo bat in the Phillies' first game of the home opener against the Rockies. He's the first member of the Phillies to use one, with multiple others likely to try one out in the future.
