Philadelphia Philliesthird baseman Alec Bohm is getting a day off Saturday against the New York Mets , with Edmundo Sosa getting the start in his place.

Bohm has gone through a rough stretch, who has gone 9-for-42 with a home run and seven RBIs over his last 10 games. In Friday's 2-1 win over the Mets, Bohm went 0-for-4 with a strikeout and hit into three double plays. This season, Bohm is batting .220 with a .275 on-base percentage and a .624 OPS.

The third baseman is in the final year of a one-year, $10.2 million deal and is set to be a free agent after the season.

Despite the struggles, Bohm has advanced to Phase 2 of All-Star voting, alongside teammates Brandon Marsh and Bryson Stott. The recognition raises questions about whether his candidacy reflects his current form or the hot start to the season that made him one of the National League’s hottest hitters through April.

Bohm posted an 18-game hitting streak from April 16 through May 5. The offense has cooled off since then, and Saturday's day off could serve as a reset as Philadelphia looks to protect its second-place spot in the NL East, while chasing the Atlanta Braves.

Sosa meanwhile, is taking Bohm's place as one of the Phillies' most versatile players this season, seeing time at second and third base, as well as at shortstop and in left field. He is batting .239 with five home runs and 24 RBIs in 47 games.
