The Philadelphia Phillies are coming off their second consecutive National League East title in the 2025 season. Under manager Rob Thomson, Philadelphia went 96-66 in the regular season last year, which was the Phillies' best record since 2011.
The success Philadelphia had in the regular season did not translate to the playoffs, however. The Phillies fell to the eventual World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers in four games in the NLDS. It marked the second straight year Philadelphia was eliminated in the division series after a trip to the World Series in 2022 and the NLCS in 2023.
Heading into the offseason, Phillies fans were hoping to make a few big splashes in free agency.
Since free agency began, Philadelphia has made five official signings. The biggest of which was a five-year, $150 million contract for designated hitterKyle Schwarber. Schwarber was one of the most sought-after free agents on the market this offseason, but the Phillies were able to keep him with the franchise for the foreseeable future.
Along with Schwarber, Philadelphia re-signed catcher J.T. Realmuto to a three-year, $45 million deal. The Phillies also added starting pitcher Brad Keller, right fielder Adolis Garcia and reliever Zach Pop so far.
On Tuesday, Philadelphia's president of baseball operations, Dave Dombrowski, announced that the team likes where it is and does not see any more big-name free-agent signings.
"We're content where we are," Dombrowski said, according to USA Today's Bob Nightengale.

This unexpected announcement from Dombrowski comes after the Phillies lost out on former Toronto Blue Jays star infielder Bo Bichette to the division rival New York Mets.
Despite the presence of guys like slugger Cody Bellinger still on the market, Dombrowski and Philadelphia like where the roster sits as spring training is right around the corner.
