Walker Buehler has put together a great resume across an eight-year career in Major League Baseball. He was an All-Star in 2019 and 2021 and played a key role in the Los Angeles Dodgers' run to World Series wins in 2020 and 2024.
Now, after getting released on Friday by the Boston Red Sox, the veteran right-hander is set to pitch for the Philadelphia Phillies, as the NL East leader picked him up on Sunday afternoon, according to ESPN's Buster Olney. ESPN's Jeff Passan added that Buehler will be available for the Phillies' playoff run.

Buehler is the latest in the Phillies' attempt to add bullpen pitchers, as Tim Mayza was added earlier Sunday off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Buehler pitched the final out of last year's World Series win and has put together some very strong numbers through his career, but two Tommy John surgeries through his time in MLB have certainly had an effect.
This season, he's sported a 7-7 record and a 5.45 ERA after signing a $21.05 million contract with Boston before the season.
"It's tough, but this is where we're at," Red Sox manager Alex Cora said when explaining the decision. "I know it didn't go his way, or our way. He expected more, and we expected more."
