
Phillies vs Marlins: The Philadelphia Phillies resume their series on the road against the Miami Marlins with Game 2 on Saturday afternoon. The Phillies earned a 6-5 win over the Marlins on Friday, taking the lead in the series at LoanDepot Park.
Philadelphia fell behind early, but Zack Wheeler dominated from then on to pitch 6.0 innings, giving up only one run while striking out eight batters. The Phillies lineup responded with RBIs from Alec Bohm and Justin Crawford before Bryson Stott hit a three-run homer in the seventh.
Miami had a solid outing on the mound as well, with Eury Perez allowing just two runs in 5.0 innings. But reliever Cade Gibson gave up four earned runs in the seventh inning while the Marlins’ offense stranded runners in scoring position on more than one occasion.

Andrew Painter will be the starting pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 2. The 23-year-old rookie has understandably been inconsistent on the mound so far, but he had a solid start in his last outing. He pitched 24.0 innings in five games with a 5.25 ERA and 1.500 WHIP.
Max Meyer takes the mound for the Miami Marlins on Saturday. The 27-year-old southpaw is enjoying an excellent start to the season after lasting five innings in five of his six starts till now. He currently has a 1-0 record with a 3.30 ERA over 30.0 innings, striking out 33.
