The MLB season might be approaching, but baseball fans have their focus on the WBC. Players are representing their countries and fighting to win the title. One anticipated battle was between Team USA and Mexico.

The USA defeated Mexico to advance to the Quarterfinals. It was an intense and challenging battle between the two teams. However, there was one moment that stood out. Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh refused to shake hands with his teammate Randy Arozarena.

Arozarena, who is representing Mexico, was snubbed when he walked up to the plate and stretched out his hand to greet the catcher. It’s not the first time this has happened in the WBC. Australian catcher Robbie Perkins refused to shake hands with Czech slugger Milan Prokop

While they might have their own reasons to avoid a handshake. It’s clear that Randy Arozarena is unhappy with the way things went with his teammate.

Arozarena held nothing back when he was asked about the situation in his postgame interview. The Mariners slugger stated Raleigh said Good to see you, but he never wanted to shake hands.

“The ‘good to see you’ he said to me, he can shove it up his a--,” Randy Arozarena said in Spanish.

Arozarena also stated that he met Raleigh’s parents, and he should be thankful for having such great parents.

“How do you think I should respond to Cal Raleigh? How should I put it to him? I want to say it in four languages. First in Spanish: The only thing he should be thankful for is having such great parents. He’s very well educated, thank God. I was lucky enough to see them a few days ago at the hotel. They came over to greet me, gave me a big hug, and were genuinely proud to see me again,” Randy Arozarena said in Spanish (Translated).

Raleigh and Arozarena will wear the Mariners uniform is less than 10 days. Both players will see each other a lot in the clubhouse, but many speculate that things might not go well. Mariners fans are unhappy to see such incidents take place between players on the same team.
