The Texas Rangers have been off to an underwhelming start to the 2025 season.

Through their first 81 games, the Rangers have a 40-41 record while trying to stay competitive in a tight AL West division race.

Although they trail the division-leading Houston Astros by just eight games, the Rangers will need to clean up their offensive play to stay in contention for the AL West title or remain within reach in the Wild Card race.

Texas ranks as a bottom-five team in runs, hits, BA, OBP, SLG, and OPS through the first half of the regular season.

While the offense will continue to try and find a groove this season, the Rangers were able to receive positive news on SP Nathan Eovaldi.

The two-time All-Star pitcher has been experiencing tricep soreness in his throwing arm and has been on the Rangers' injured list since May 29.

On Friday, before their series-opener against a divisional rival, the Seattle Mariners, it was announced that Eovaldi has been reinstated from the injured list, according to Rangers insider Jeff Wilson.

Eovaldi will be in line to start in his first game since May 27 as he competes against Logan Gilbert and the Mariners.

With the activation of the starting pitcher, Texas optioned RP Dane Dunning to Triple-A Round Rock.

Nathan Eovaldi was on pace for another All-Star caliber season before going down with the injury in late May. Through 12 starts this season, Eovaldi has a 4-3 record, a 1.56 ERA, 0.81 WHIP, and has struck out 73 batters in 69.1 innings.

He'll rejoin a recovering pitching staff that includes Jacob deGrom, Jack Leiter, and Patrick Corbin.

The Rangers have been waiting for the return of Tyler Mahle, who remains on the injured list with shoulder fatigue.
