Rangers vs Tigers: The Texas Rangers finish up their three-game series with the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park on Sunday evening. The Tigers drew level in the series after beating the Rangers 5-1 on Saturday.
Kumar Rocker had his first clunker of the season for Texas, giving up five runs and making his exit after just 2.0 innings. Josh Jung and Josh Smith got two hits apiece, but the Rangers’ lineup could not generate any momentum. Ezequiel Duran drove in the lone run for the team.
Keider Montero, on the other hand, delivered a quality start on the mound for Detroit, posting 6.2 innings and giving up just a solo home run. Dillon Dingler set the tone offensively for the Tigers with a three-run homer in the first inning before they added two more in the second.
Jack Leiter is the starting pitcher for the Texas Rangers in Game 3. After an impressive rookie campaign last year, the 26-year-old had a rough opening month to the 2026 season. He logged 31.1 innings over six starts, holding a 1-2 record with a 5.17 ERA and 33 strikeouts.
Tyler Holton is going to start as an opener for the Detroit Tigers, with Casey Mize currently on the IL. The 30-year-old southpaw is going through a tough spell, like most in the Tigers’ bullpen. He has a 5.54 ERA over 13.0 innings with a 1.923 WHIP.
