The St. Louis Cardinals wrapped up the MLB trade deadline with six new minor league prospects after moving three bullpen arms despite expectations of the team moving bigger names like Nolan Arenado, Brendan Donovan or Jordan Walker.
Here are the top three additions from the new crop:
Blaze Jordan, 1B/3B(Triple-A)
Acquired from the Boston Red Sox for Steven Matz, the six-foot corner infielder enters the Cardinals' system at No. 19 according to MLB Pipeline. Jordan's numbers this year paired with his close proximity to the big league club land him at No. 1 on Athlon Sports' top 3 additions for the team.
The 22-year-old is slashing .308/.377/.495 across Double-A (44 GP) and Triple-A (44 GP). Jordan has racked up 33 walks and 99 hits, including 22 doubles, a triple and 12 home runs to drive in 62 runs and scoring 59 times over the course of the 2025 campaign.

The former third-round pick provides versatility for the Cardinals at both corners of the infield, playing 42 games at first base and 41 at third this season while carrying an overall fielding percentage of .997 in 693 2/3 defensive innings.
While his underlying numbers display a few issues - like a whiff rate in the 85th percentile - there is still great reason for the team's front office to be excited about this pick up.
MLB Pipeline scouting grades: Hit: 50, Power: 50, Run: 30, Arm: 50, Field: 40, Overall: 40
Jesus Baez, SS/3B (High-A)
The highest-ranked prospect of the bunch, Baez enters the organization as the No. 6 prospect after being acquired from the New York Mets for Ryan Helsley.
The 20-year-old infielder brings a touch of power to the organization that the farm system was looking for. Although he's never played more than 76 games in a season, Baez has racked up 78 extra-base hits, including 30 home runs, in 242 career minor league games.
Although he doesn't have extraordinary numbers through a career-high 76 games this season, he's nearing career-best totals in hits, home runs, RBI and stolen bases while already setting career-highs in runs scored (46) and walks (36).
With a 50 contact and 60 power rating, the young infielder has the tools to become an exciting name to watch develop in the next couple seasons.

Nate Dohm, RHP (High-A)
Also acquired from New York in the Helsley deal, Dohm joins the Cardinals organization as the No. 15 prospect.
The 22-year-old righty is in the midst his first professional season, currently carrying a 2.87 ERA through 18 appearances (17 starts). Dohm has struck out 77 batters while only walking 23 and giving up 5 home runs in 62 2/3 innings pitched. Opposing minor league batters are hitting .234 against the former third-round pick.
Dohm utilizes a fastball, slider, curveball and changeup with relatively average velocity that can reach the upper 90s in short spurts, but he's dealt with forearm issues in the past which have limited his fastball velocity to an average of 93-95 mph. If he can stay healthy, he will be another exciting prospect to look for over the next several years.
