Red Sox Predicted to Cut Ties With Alex Cora After Latest Drama

Plenty has happened for the Boston Red Sox over the past few weeks, but trading Rafael Devers is undoubtedly at the top of that.

The Red Sox have called up top prospects, sent down prospects, and much more. However, nothing will likely be the decision to trade Devers in a package that should have been 10 times what they got.

But that doesn't mean that the Red Sox are done, as there’s still plenty that has to play out over the next few months. If Boston isn't looking to be the team it's looking to be, sitting in fourth place in the American League East, with a 6-4 record over its last 10, it's possible that Alex Cora could be the next one out.

When recently taking a look at coaches around Major League Baseball, some expect him to be the next one fired.

"There may not be a manager in baseball who has less of a finger on the pulse of the team he is managing than Cora," John Buhler wrote. "I would be utterly stunned if he got to manage Boston next season."

It's tough to justify moving on from Cora right now because he just signed a new contract last year that started this offseason. However, if the Red Sox don't turn things around, they could likely move on from him.

For now, Cora has a job to do in Boston, and if his team continues playing how it is, he might be without a job.

There are questions after that, but the Red Sox front office will ultimately have to decide. They’re a good team, not great, and perhaps not all of that can be put on Cora.
