There have been rumors about Braves manager Brian Snitker retiring at season’s end. He’s 69 years old and has been with the organization for 49 years. Coming into the season, most thought this was going to be his last hoorah, regardless of what happened.
But according to Braves beat reporter Mark Bowman, that may not be the case. Brian Snitker has not decided whether or not he wants to retire at season’s end, citing the fact that he doesn’t want to end his career after a season in which his team is crawling to the finish line.
Snitker said he hasn’t decided whether he wants to retire. There have been days when he thought this would be his last year as a manager. But he doesn’t necessarily want to end with a season like this.

Braves fans might not want to hear it, but if Brian Snitker wants to manage one more season, he’s going to be leading the club in 2026.
Snitker earned a lot of grace by winning six division titles and a World Series amid a stretch of seven straight postseason appearances. One bad season isn’t going to cost him his job, and it shouldn’t
Brian Snitker is the last of the Braves worries. Injuries, underperformances, and poor roster construction were the reason Atlanta struggled this season, not the manager. There’s no way Alex Anthopoulos can look at the job he did this past offseason and point the finger at Snitker for why the team struggled. It’s just not happening.
For avid defenders of the Braves manager, this is great news. For the many that are pleading for a new voice, you might have to wait another year.
