According to reports, the Chicago White Sox have signed outfielder Mike Tauchman, adding depth to their roster as they continue their rebuilding process. This move comes as the team looks to explore various options in the outfield for the upcoming season.
Tauchman, 33, joins the White Sox after spending the 2023 and 2024 seasons with the Chicago Cubs following a stint in the KBO. His performance last year showed some promise, as he slashed .248/.357/.366 with seven home runs over 109 games.
The veteran outfielder joins fellow free-agent signing Austin Slater in the White Sox outfield mix which already includes Andrew Benintendi, Luis Robert Jr., and Dominic Fletcher.
While the terms of Tauchman's contract with the White Sox haven't been disclosed, it has been reported that this is a major league deal.
