The Cincinnati Reds signed right-hander Pierce Johnson to a free-agent contract, according to MLB Network.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed for the reliever, who finished last season with a 3-3 record and a 3.05 ERA in 65 relief appearances for the Atlanta Braves.

The Reds' bullpen was seventh in the National League last season with a 3.89 ERA and tied for eighth with 41 saves.

In eight career MLB seasons, Johnson is 21-24 with a 3.79 ERA in 330 appearances (two starts) for the Chicago Cubs (2017), San Francisco Giants (2018), San Diego Padres (2020-22), Colorado Rockies (2023) and Braves. He also pitched in Japan during the 2019 season.

Johnson was selected 43rd overall as a supplemental first-round pick by the Cubs in 2012.
