The Rockies accumulated some interesting position player prospects over the past few years. Some of those names will be in 2026 Spring Training for the Rockies. Charlie Condon, Cole Carrigg, and Jared Thomas are among the notables who will be with the big club for Colorado this coming spring in Arizona.

The prospects

The headliner is Charlie Condon, the Rockies’ first-rounder from 2024. Condon performed well between High-A and Double-A, as he slashed .268/.376/.444 with 14 home runs and 33 combined extra-base hits. He only played 99 games in the regular season, and made up for that in the AFL.

A 22-year-old slugger, Condon’s power is the calling card. There was, as expected, some swing-and-miss in his game last year down in the Rockies’ farm system.

Condon had a good overall fall in the Arizona Fall League, even though he only hit one home run in 22 contests.

The Rockies also invited three other of their best hitting prospects: Cole Carrigg, Jared Thomas, & Cole Messina.

Messina threw out nearly 40% of the runners who tested him last season in High-A and made consistent contact.

Thomas, taken in 2024 like Condon and Messina, had a big year offensively. The former Texas standout picked up 39 extra-base hits and stole 33 bases last season between High-A and Double-A.

Carrigg came into 2025 as one of the Rockies’ marquee prospects, alongside Condon. However, his numbers weren’t great in 2025. He did steal 49 bases but also swung and missed an awfully high amount (31%) last season with Hartford.

Konner Eaton, Brayan Castillo, Sean Sullivan, Eiberson Castellano, Bryant Betancourt, and T.J. Rumfieldacquired from the Yankees recently for Angel Chivilli — will also be in camp.

Other notables

Valente Bellozo threw 150 innings at the MLB level with the Marlins between 2024 and 2025. The 26-year-old posted one of the lowest Whiff% (20.2%) and K% (15.5%) rates last season, as his game is to keep hitters off balance. Bellozo doesn’t throw hard, as he mostly sits in the 90-91 MPH range.

Bellozo will be joined by former Marlins farmhand Adam Laskey. Big groundball pitcher, as his GB% flirted with 60% in the Southern League last season.

John Brebbia, an effective strikeout pitcher for years, will look to break in with the Rockies as a non-roster player. Brebbia struck out 26 over 23 innings last season between the Tigers and Braves.

Drew Avans, Kyle McCann, Brett Sullivan, Vimael Machin, Parker Mushinski, and Nicky Lopez are also among the former Major Leaguers inthe Rockies camp.
