The Colorado Rockies are currently performing at a record pace, but not in a good way.
After falling to the Atlanta Braves by a score of 6-3 on Monday, April 28, the Rockies fell to 4-24 on the season. That's exactly 20 games under the .500 mark, and we haven't even reached the month of May.
It gets worse. Colorado is in the midst of a seven-game losing streak, having also been beaten in 15 of their past 16 outings . The lone Rockies win since an April 10 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers came when Colorado split a doubleheader versus the Washington Nationals on April 20.
To no surprise, this monumentally rough start is historically bad.
According to 'FOX Sports: MLB' on X , "by comparison," last year's Chicago White Sox team was only 16 games under .500 through the first 28 games of the season. As a reminder, the Rockies are 20 games under in the same amount of time.

This puts Colorado on pace to shatter the White Sox's 2024 record, which surpassed the 1962 New York Mets for the most regular-season MLB losses of all time, as Chicago finished 41-121.
If the Rockies continue down this road of futility in 2025, they will claim this undesirable honor from the White Sox after just one year in sole possession of the record.
As of April 28, the Rockies sit second-to-last in runs scored, third-to-last in cumulative batting average, and 25th in slugging.
On the pitching side, they're also second-to-last in cumulative ERA and dead last in "opponent batting average."
Finally, as fielders, Colorado ranks 27th in the MLB in errors, with exactly 23, and 28th in terms of overall fielding percentage.
