The Colorado Rockies lost a very close game on Tuesday to the San Diego Padres. San Diego nipped Colorado 1-0. Rockies starting pitcher Chase Dollander was pleased with his performance, despite his team not getting the win.
Dollander was asked after the game what he took from his performance.
“That I’m dominant and I can dominate any lineup. I think it’s just a testament to everything I’ve been through and the learning lessons I had last year and everything I did this offseason,” Dollander said postgame, per Rockies reporter Andrew Mason.

Dollander allowed just one run and three hits on Tuesday, in the team’s loss. He worked six innings. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t get any run support as Colorado got blanked.
The Rockies are now 9-15 on the season, and last in the National League West. Colorado is looking to improve after a disastrous 2025 campaign, that saw the team lose 119 games.
Dollander has clearly pitched this season with a lot of confidence. The young hurler is 2-2 on the season, with a 2.88 ERA. The pitcher also hates getting taken out of games.
“It’s my game,” he said, per MLB.com. “It’s my inning. I don’t want the guys to come in and have to get me out of that. I want to get out of that, myself. I have all the faith in the world in those guys to get out of that, but it’s another feeling to get out of that yourself.”
Colorado’s loss on Tuesday was the first time the Rockies had lost at Coors Field to an opponent by a 1-0 score in 20 years.
