George Springer is officially an immortal in the entire country of Canada.
The Toronto Blue Jays outfielder was the hero in Game 7 of the ALCS against the Seattle Mariners on Monday. With the Blue Jays trailing 3-1 in the seventh inning at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Springer came up to bat with two runners in scoring position and one out.
After the Mariners inserted righty reliever Eduard Bazardo to pitch to Springer, the four-time MLB All-Star slugger responded with one of the greatest home runs in Blue Jays history.
Springer launched a 1-0 offering from Bazardo into the left field seats for a go-ahead three-run dinger, sending the Toronto crowd into bedlam.

The Blue Jays held to win by a 4-3 final score to clinch the American League pennant for the first time since 1993. They will now have homefield advantage when they face off against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series beginning with Friday’s Game 1.
Meanwhile, the ex-World Series MVP Springer entered play on Monday hitting just .233 this postseason and also had a big injury scare on a hit-by-pitch in Game 5. But his Blue Jays kept on fighting, battling back from deficits of 0-2 and 2-3 in the series against the Mariners.
Then in Game 7, it was Springer who donned his hero cape and produced an all-time playoff homer for Toronto, right up there with the likes of Jose Bautista and Joe Carter.
