The Venezuelan dealt with a hamstring strain injury in early May; the injury also occurred during a sprint to first.
Thumb pain later in the same month saw him moved to DH as a precautionary measure to avoid injury.
He has struggled to find himself at the plate this season, slashing just .254/.373 /.425, well below his career average.
No word has come out yet about the extensiveness or severity of the injury.
As for Braves fans, this injury to Acuña Jr. is a damper on what has been, to this point, a phenomenal season.
