After just one game in the Florida Complex League to begin his rehab assignment, Ronald Acuña Jr. made his way to Gwinnett for his first appearance with the Stripers Thursday night.
In his first plate appearance, the Braves star outfielder ripped a 106.4 MPH rocket through the left side of the infield for a single.
We like the look of this Ronald Acuña Jr. dude, @Braves.

Four innings later, he sent another laser into the left-center field gap, coming just a few feet shy of his second homer in as many games.

After the game, Acuña said he’s still working on some stuff in the field, but the knee feels good and he’s just happy to be playing baseball again.
#Braves Ronald Acuña Jr. said his knee felt good running. He's still getting reacquainted in the field and will continue to work on that – there were a couple of misplays. The swing feels good and he is excited to be back on the field.

It might only be minor-league baseball, and admittedly, my memory isn’t nearly good enough to remember clearly what Ronald Acuña Jr. looked like in his rehab assignment three years ago. But am I crazy to think he looks unbelievably good, like the guy that stole 70 bases and rocketed 41 balls over the fence a couple of years ago, good?
If that’s the version of Ronald Acuña Jr. the Braves are getting when he returns to Atlanta, which may only be a week or so away, this offense is about to look entirely different.
