Ronald Acuna Jr. Sends Message to Juan Soto After Braves Game

The Atlanta Braves are trying to get themselves going after Ronald Acuna Jr. recently returned following the torn ACL that had kept him out for about a full calendar year.

They achieved an impressive 5-0 shutout win over the New York Mets on Wednesday, giving them their fifth victory in their last six games. They can go for a sweep of the Mets on Thursday when they wrap up their three-game series versus Juan Soto and crew.

Acuna had one hit in three at-bats, and that one hit turned out to be a home run in the bottom of the first inning. Soto, on the other hand, went hitless in his four at-bats.

Acuna sent a friendly message to Soto afterward on his official Instagram account.

"Mi bro," the caption read.

Soto had previously won a World Series championship with the Washington Nationals and spent last season with the New York Yankees when they lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Fall Classic. He joined the Mets before this season as a free agent in a monumental move that seemed to signify a shift in fortunes for both New York teams.

His numbers are down a bit so far this season, but his Mets remain in first place in the National League East, albeit by just one game over the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Braves, meanwhile, are in third place with a 33-39 record. They're hoping to get hot and claim a wild-card playoff spot later this summer.

In 23 games this year, Acuna is hitting .390 and has 14 RBIs and eight home runs.
