San Diego Padres Third Baseman Manny Machado made history on Thursday afternoon. With a two-run home run in the top of the 3rd inning against the San Francisco Giants, Machado swung his way into the record books. It was his 350th career home run. He is the 10th third baseman in MLB history to reach 350 career home runs playing at least 50% of his games at the position.

He is just one of five active players with 350 career round-trippers. Machado joined Giancarlo Stanton, Mike Trout, Paul Goldschmidt, and Freddie Freeman on that exclusive list. It has been a good season for the star third baseman. He is batting .317 with 8 home runs and 31 RBI. He is 10th in the league in batting average. Will he continue having a strong regular season?

Manny Machado Career Summary

Machado has been one of the best players in the league since making his debut with the Baltimore Orioles in 2012. He is a six-time MLB All-Star, two-time Silver Slugger, the winner of two Gold Gloves, and won a Platinum Glove in 2013. His career has included stints with the Orioles, Los Angeles Dodgers, and San Diego Padres. He also has five top-10 finishes in MVP voting

Final Thoughts

Machado and the San Diego Padres return to the diamond this evening when they visit the Milwaukee Brewers for a three-game set. It has been a good start to the year for the Padres. The play of their star third baseman has been a big reason why.
