See-through Spring Training Uniforms Remain an Issue

After the fiasco that was last season’s Spring Training uniforms, there was hope that fans and athletes would see some improvement in the uniform quality and design for the 2025 season.

See-through pants, uneven sleeves, drastically curved last names, and grey road uniforms that seemed to be mismatched plagued the league last season and took social media by storm. Much-needed changes to the uniforms were promised by Nike this season, hoping to bring the game of baseball back to the focus of fans online rather than how disappointing the uniforms were.

This season fans are noticing some improvements, namely in the jerseys. The new jerseys have larger numbers on the back, patches on the sleeves and the names on the back seem to fit much nicer, with a much less pronounced curve.

The pants, however, may not have improved much.

Scott Coleman on X noted that at the Braves v Twins matchup on Feb 22 it seemed like the jerseys were fixed but the white pants were still see-through.

The see-through white pants are not just an issue for the Braves though, it’s every team.

On Feb 18 the Dodgers posted a picture on X where Roki Sasaki, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Shohei Othani’s white pants were so obviously paper thin.

Though there is clear improvement in the jersey designs, Nike did not fully deliver on their promises. There is still work to be done to improve the design, specifically in that of the white pants next season.
