There's no doubt that the Baltimore Orioles wanted to get off to a good start this season. The Orioles have been one of the most impressive American League teams in recent seasons, having young players showcase their skills.
Yet this season has been one that many of them are ready to forget. Baltimore hit a new low on Thursday, losing to the Minnesota Twins 5-2 and seeing themselves land 10 games below the .500 mark at 13-23. They've now lost five straight games entering a weekend series against the Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim, Calif.
“We've got to start winning some games here soon,” first baseman Ryan Mountcastle said, according to MLB.com.
“None of us are enjoying losing. It definitely takes a toll on us,” outfielder Heston Kjerstad said. “You show up every day and you want to win, so going home with a loss is never the funnest way to go home.”
PLAY. HESTON. KJERSTAD. EVERY. DAY.

Baltimore has suffered some major blows to their pitching staff. There have been numerous pitchers that have landed on the injured list this season. Right now, though, the Orioles need to stop their five-game losing streak.
The Angels have had their issues, too. Maybe Baltimore can find some better luck while spending a weekend on the West Coast. Orioles manager Brandon Hyde sure hopes it happens pretty soon.
