After the great feeling of defeating their rivals in the Chicago White Sox, the Chicago Cubs have now dropped two straight to the Seattle Mariners. Shota Imanaga is the probable starter who hopes to help the Cubs avoid a sweep.
Regardless of whether Chicago wins this game or not, they’re in a great spot with a 74-56 record. It’s just not enough for first place because of the division they’re in, as the Milwaukee Brewers are 81-49.
For Game 3 of Cubs versus Mariners, here are the probable starters as this game is set to take place at 4:10 PM ET.
Imanaga has been a mixed bag in his last five starts, with three and four earned runs in his last two outings. Before that, Imanaga didn’t allow more than two earned runs in the three other games.
On the year, Imanaga has a 3.77 ERA, 1.088 WHIP, 1.5 WAR, an 8-9 record, and 140 strikeouts to 32 walks in 143.1 innings (25 starts). Imanaga also has a pitching run value (Baseball Savant) of four, ranking in the 60th percentile.

Miller has a slightly lower pitching run value than Imanaga, down at three (56th percentile).
