The Cardinals won 6-4 last night. The standout rookie, JJ Wetherholt, hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning en route to the win. Wetherholt, Jordan Walker, Jose Fermin, and Yohel Pozo all drove in runs; Wetherholt and Fermin each drove in two. Andre Pallante made the start, going five innings, allowing three runs on four hits. He walked three and struck out four. The bullpen, with four arms combined, went four innings, allowing a run on two hits. They combined to walk two and strike out three.

Standout Performer

JJ Wetherholt went 2-4 with a home run in the sixth. The home run ended up being the winning run over the Athletics. It was his eighth big fly of the season.

• Peoria Chiefs (A+): Josh Kross had a big night at the plate, going 3-4 with a home run and two runs scored in the Chiefs’ 7-1 win over the Sky Carp.
• Palm Beach Cardinals (A): Tuesday’s game was postponed due to rain. The club will play a doubleheader this afternoon starting at 3:00 p.m. ET.
• FCL Cardinals (ROK): Yaxson Lucena drove in the lone Cardinals run in their 7-1 loss to FCL Astros.
