Kyle Tucker was linked to several teams, and the New York Mets were on. Tucker passed on the Toronto Blue Jays, after which the Mets gave him a decent offer. Yet, Tucker wanted to be on the team that was winning back-to-back championships.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are believed to be the winners of the offseason. They signed the No. 1 free agent and one of the best relievers in the league. The Mets, on the other hand, made a huge splash by shaking up their roster.
Steve Cohen and his team did everything in their power to build a winning team. However, they missed out on Kyle Tucker, and Cohen admitted his annoyance after Tucker picked the Dodgers.
“I actually went to bed annoyed. ‘Oh, we didn’t get him,” Cohen said. “The agent for Bo Bichette had called us right after and discussions started,” he said “You never know how they’re gonna go. They moved really quickly.”

Cohen also said he was happy the Mets got Bo Bichette instead of Tucker. The Mets are eager to make the playoffs after missing out last season.
Tucker made it clear that he wants to win. It’s probably one of the main reasons why he picked the Dodgers. Tucker won his first World Series title with the Houston Astros in 2022. The outfielder slashed .266 with 22 home runs and 73 RBIs for the Cubs in 2025.
Kyle Tucker will join an elite squad as he gets to play along with Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts, and the others.
Dodgers fans are excited about Kyle Tucker’s decision. The franchise is already the favorite to win the 2026 World Series.
