Tampa Bay Rays Third Baseman Junior Caminero has had a great first half of the regular season. He is the fifth player in league history, 21 or younger, to have 23+ home runs in the first half of the regular season. The last player to accomplish this feat was Cody Bellinger in 2017.
Caminero is hitting .252 with 23 home runs and 60 RBI. He is top-20 in the league in both home runs and RBI. A great first half led to the young third baseman being named to the first All-Star Game of his career. Will he be able to keep it going this summer?

Caminero debuted with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2023. He had a nondescript MLB career until 2025. He entered the league with high expectations. He was the No. 1 prospect in Tampa Bay’s farm system entering the 2024 season. This has been the best season of his career by a sizable margin.
Caminero will look to play well tomorrow in the 2025 MLB All-Star Game. He and the Tampa Bay Rays return to the diamond for a three-game set at home against the Baltimore Orioles beginning on Friday. The young third baseman will look to continue making history in the second half of the regular season.
