Texas Rangers Release 29-Game 2027 Spring Training Schedule

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers announced their 2027 spring training schedule on Friday. It includes 29 Cactus League games, starting Friday, Feb. 19, against the Kansas City Royals at Surprise Stadium.

Major League Baseball put out the full 2027 spring schedule the same day. All 30 clubs in the Cactus League and the Grapefruit League open exhibition play on Feb. 19, according to MLB.com.

Texas will be the visiting club for the opener. The Royals share the Surprise complex with the Rangers, and the Feb. 19 game is the only one of the 15 games in Surprise in which Texas will not be the home team.

Fifteen Games in Surprise

Of the 29 games, 15 are at Surprise Stadium, with the Rangers as the home team for 14 of them. The first home date is Saturday, Feb. 20 against the Athletics. The 2027 camp will be the club’s 25th spring in Surprise, where Texas has trained every year since 2003.

The Rangers will make at least one trip to each of the other nine Cactus League facilities. Multiple visits are scheduled to Camelback Ranch, home of the Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers; Goodyear Ballpark, home of the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Guardians; Peoria Sports Complex, home of the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners; Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies; and Tempe Diablo Stadium, home of the Los Angeles Angels.

Three Split-Squad Dates

Three split-squad dates are on the schedule, with Texas playing a home game and a road game on the same day. On Monday, Feb. 22, the Rangers host the Guardians in Surprise and travel to face the Milwaukee Brewers. On Thursday, March 4, Texas hosts the Angels and plays the Chicago Cubs on the road. On Monday, March 15, the Rangers host the San Francisco Giants and visit the Padres.

Off days fall on March 1, March 10, and March 17. The Cactus League schedule closes Saturday, March 20, against the Brewers in Surprise.

The club will announce game times, ticket availability, and other event details later.

The schedule depends on the league avoiding a work stoppage, as the current collective bargaining agreement between MLB and the MLB Players Association expires on Dec. 1.

The 2027 regular season begins Wednesday, March 24 with an Opening Night game on Netflix. That matchup has not been announced. Opening Day follows on Thursday, March 25 with 14 games, including a primetime game on NBC.

Texas opens the regular season that day against the Houston Astros in Houston, the earliest game date in franchise history. The Rangers play three games at Houston from March 25 through March 27, take Sunday, March 28 off, and then travel to Seattle for three more. The home opener is Thursday, April 1 against the Athletics at Globe Life Field.
