With the New York Yankees desperately fighting to stay alive in the American League East race, Giancarlo Stanton made some history over the weekend.
With two outs in the top of the first inning on Saturday, Stanton slapped a breaking ball over the right field wall at Camden Yards in Baltimore to become the 41st player to join the 450-homer club.
Despite not playing until mid-June of this season, the 35 year old slugger has racked up 21 home runs and 61 RBIs in just 70 games. He’s also shown he can still throw on the glove in a pinch, playing 20 games in the outfield with Aaron Judge unable to throw for a stretch late in the summer. If the Yankees are going to return to the World Series for the second-consecutive year, it will likely be because Stanton played a big role.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the 41 players to hit at least 450 home runs in their MLB career can you name in six minutes?
Good luck!
