The 'Active 200-strikeout MLB seasons' quiz

The Los Angeles Dodgers are one win away from returning to the World Series, and are turning to Shohei Ohtani to try and complete the NLCS sweep over the Milwaukee Brewers.

While starting pitching was an issue for the Dodgers for much of the regular season, it has been dominant for the reigning champions in the NLCS. Blake Snell set the tone with an eight-inning shutout effort in Game 1, while Yoshibobu Yamamoto allowed one run in a complete game in Game 2. They “only,” got 5 ⅔ innings and eight strikeouts in Game 3 from Tyler Glasnow, and now will run their two-way star to the mound with hopes of closing out the series.

Ohtani made the first playoff pitching appearance of his career this year in the NLDS against the Phillies, going six innings and allowing three runs while striking out nine in his Game 1 start.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. In his lone full season as a starting pitcher with the Angels in 2022, Ohtani struck out 219 batters with an American League-best 11.9 strikeouts-per-nine-innings. With that being said, can you name every active MLB pitcher with at least one 200-strikeout season?

Good luck!
