There were plenty of questions surrounding the New York Yankees at the MLB trade deadline. Amidst a summer swoon that has sent the Yankees from a seven game lead in the A.L. East to a 3.5 game deficit – general manager Brian Cashman went to work. . He fortified the infield with Ryan McMahon, Amed Rosario and Jose Caballero, but he also added much-needed gas to the bullpen.
First, they acquired Pittsburgh Pirates closer David Bednar, who recently saw a 22 1/3-inning scoreless streak end. Then, at the buzzer of the 6:00pm EST deadline, he landed flamethrower Camilo Doval from the San Francisco Giants.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. While Cashman wasn’t able to bolster the Yankees starting rotation, he compensated by adding two very good back-end relievers. With that being said, can you name the American and National League leaders in saves by season since 2008?
Good luck!
