The 'Cy Young winners of the 2000s' quiz

There hasn’t been a ton of good news out of spring training for the Atlanta Braves so far, but they got some this week with the extension of starting pitcher Chris Sale. Sale was in the final year of his contract with the Braves, but now is tied to the team through 2027 with a club option for 2028.

Sale made 21 starts in 2025 following his Cy Young season in 2024, posting a 2.58 ERA with 165 strikeouts and just 32 walks in 125 2/3 innings, but he once again missed a chunk of time in the middle of the year due to injury. If he can stay healthy this season, he and Spencer Strider should give the Braves one of the best one-two punches at the top of a rotation in all of baseball.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Sale is already a nine-time All-Star, pitching Triple Crown winner, World Series champion and one of just six pitchers in MLB history to win the Cy Young in both the American and National League. With that being said, how many of the Cy Young winners since 2000 can you name in six minutes?

Good luck!
