Happy 71st birthday to three-time All-Star and Sliver Slugger, two-time American League MVP and one of the All-Time Milwaukee Brewers, Robin Yount!
Yount played his entire 20-year career with the Brewers, making his MLB debut in 1974 and starting 107 games as a rookie.
He established himself as a constant in Milwaukee’s lineup over the next two decades, reaching 3,142 hits, 1,406 RBI and 251 home runs all of which rank either first or second in franchise history.
Despite his two decades of production at the plate, Yount appeared in just two playoffs with the Brewers, making the 1982 World Series but losing to the St. Louis Cardinals. He did shine in his lone Fall Classic, hitting .414 in 31 plate appearances with a homer, three doubles and six RBI in the seven-game series.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the players with the most hits for each MLB franchise can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
