One day after surrendering nine home runs and falling 17-3 to the Chicago Cubs, the Milwaukee Brewers got their licks back with a 9-4 win over the Chicago Cubs and further entrench themselves as National League Central leaders.
The Cubs jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but a four-run sixth inning capped off by a Christian Yelich home run gave the Brewers a lead they wouldn’t relinquish to get their division lead back to eight games.
The Brewers have a chance to finish with the best record in Major League Baseball despite a fairly quiet season from Yelich, who finally crossed the double-digit homer mark and recorded his 49th RBI in his 98th game this season. While his production is a far-cry from his 2019 MVP season, a hot-hitting Yelich in the postseason would be a massive plus for a Brewers team looking to make their first World Series appearance since 1982.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Yelich’s 2019 MVP campaign was the fifth in Brewers’ history and first since Ryan Braun in 2011. With that being said, can you name the last player to be named Most Valuable Player for each MLB franchise?
Good luck!
