The 'Last 200-strikeout pitcher by MLB team' quiz

After Boston Red Sox ace Garrett Crochet dominated the New York Yankees lineup in Game 1 of the Wild Card series, the pressure shifts to Yankees lefty Carlos Rodon to keep New York’s season alive.

Rodon is following up a superb effort from Max Fried, who pitched 6 ⅓ innings of shutout baseball himself, but Luke Weaver and David Bednar combined to allow three runs in the seventh and ninth innings to create a 2-run deficit the offense couldn’t claw out of.

Rodon had a horrible first season in what was an overall awful campaign for the Yankees in 2023, but steadied himself in 2024 before becoming one of the most reliable starters in MLB this season. Rodon finished just behind Max Fried with a career-high 18 wins and a second-career 200-strikeout season (203) in 33 starts.

Unfortunately for Yankees fans, Rodon has struggled in four of his five playoff starts, getting through six innings just once and carrying a 6.64 postseason ERA. If they want to force a Game 3, they’ll need to get the version of Rodon they paid $162-million for.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Rodon struck out 203 batters for the Yankees in 2025. With that being said, can you name the most recent 200-strikeout pitcher for each MLB team in five minutes?

Good luck!
