The 'MLB 30/30 seasons' quiz

Congratulations to nine-time MLB All-Star, three-time Gold Glover, two-time Silver Slugger and 1999 American League Rookie of the Year Carlos Beltran on his election to the Pro Baseball Hall of Fame!

Beltran is part of the exclusive 20-season club, spending time with the Royals, Astros, Mets, Giants, Cardinals, Yankees and Rangers. As a rookie in 1999, he hit .293 with 22 home runs, 108 RBIs and 22 stolen bases in 156 games. Power at the plate and speed on the base paths were part of Beltran’s game for the first half of his career, when hit at least 20 home runs and stole at least 20 bases in eight of his first 10 seasons. In 2004, he joined the 30/30 club with 38 dingers and 42 steals.

By the time he retired after his 2017 swan song with the Houston Astros, Beltran had racked up 2,725 hits, 1,587 RBI, 435 home runs and 312 stolen bases. But his reputation was tarnished due to his involvement with the infamous sign-stealing scandal on that Astros team, which cost him his job as manager of the New York Mets before managing a single game.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Despite the baggage from the end of his career, he’s still a member of both the 400-home run and 30/30 club. With that being said, how many of the players to hit 30 home runs and steal 30 bases in the same MLB season can you name in five minutes?

Good luck!
