Congratulations to 10-time MLB Gold Glover, five-time All-Star and 17-year veteran Andruw Jones on being elected to the Pro Baseball Hall of Fame!
In his nearly two-decade career, Jones racked up 1,933 hits, 1,289 RBI and 434 home runs – the vast majority of which came with the Atlanta Braves. While his bat was solid, Jones was best known for his play in center field. His 253 defensive runs saved are the second-most all-time and the most ever by a wide margin for a center fielder. After 12 seasons in Atlanta, he spent time with the Dodgers, Rangers and White Sox before ending his career with the New York Yankees.
After nine years on the ballot, Jones’ induction is historic, as he will become the first player from the island of Curacao with a bust in Cooperstown.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Jones is one of 59 players in MLB history to hit more than 400 home runs in their career. How many of those players can you name in seven minutes?
Good luck!
