The 'MLB active wins leaders' quiz

After 10 years in the Major Leagues and getting traded from the Cincinnati Reds to the Seattle Mariners at the 2022 trade deadline, veteran starting pitcher Luis Castillo is no stranger to the chaos surrounding this time of year.

With the 33-year-old having perhaps the worst season of his career this year for the Mariners, he’s on the move once again , this time to the first-place Chicago White Sox

One of the biggest surprises of the season, the White Sox currently hold a three-game lead over the Guardians in the American League Central, and general manager Chris Getz said he’s looking forward to the impact Castillo can have on the mound and in the clubhouse.

“This was an opportunity to bring in a starting pitcher that we’re really excited about. Someone that can help lead this young pitching staff,” he told the media after the trade via Zoom.

“Not just as someone who can cover innings, but someone who has experience pitching in the playoffs.”

Castillo currently has a career-high 5.06 ERA in 17 starts for the Mariners this season, striking out 86 but allowing 16 home runs and 107 hits in 99 2/3 innings.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Castillo currently ranks 23rd on MLB’s active-wins list with 87 in his career. With that being said, can you name the MLB pitchers with at least 80 wins under their belt?

Good luck!
