Happy 62nd birthday to five-time All-Star, three-time Silver Slugger, 1994 All-Star Game MVP and 1995 World Series champion, Fred McGriff!
McGriff played 19 Major League seasons with the Toronto Blue Jays, San Diego Padres, Atlanta Braves, Tampa Bay Rays, Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers. McGriff’s best seasons came from 1994-96, when he made three-consecutive All-Star appearances, combined for 294 RBI and 89 home runs with Atlanta en route to a World Series championship with the Braves.
By the time he hung up his cleats, McGriff had racked up 493 home runs and 1,550 RBI and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2023. With that being said, how many of the players to eclipse 1,500 RBI in their Major League careers can you name in seven minutes?
Good luck!
