Since Jose Altuve made his MLB debut in 2011 with the then-National League Houston Astros, all he’s done is hit.
On Wednesday night, the future Hall of Famer added another bullet point to his resume by joining the 2,500-hit club with an opposite-field double to the wall against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Altuve is the 103rd player in baseball history to reach 2,500 hits and is just the second Astro, joining Craig Biggio. He’s also only the second active player to reach that milestone, joining Freddie Freeman of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Despite the achievement, the Astros let the Rangers off the hook for their 3-2 loss to Seattle with a 11-7 loss of their own and kept the gap at the top of the American League West at just two games.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. If the Astros are able to hang on and win the A.L. West, they’ll enter the MLB Playoffs with one of the most proven postseason performers in baseball history. With that being said, can you name the players with the most hits in the MLB playoffs?
Good luck!
