The 'Season HR-leaders by MLB team' quiz

Happy birthday to six-time MLB All-Star, Pittsburgh Pirates single-season home run record holder and member of the Pro Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 1975, Ralph Kiner!

Kiner was one of many players whose career was impacted by his military service in World War II, making his MLB debut in 1946. He led the National League with 23 home runs as a rookie and he’d go on to lead all of baseball in home runs in each of the next six seasons.

He hit at least 40 dingers five times in that stretch, going over 50 in 1947 and 1949. His 54 blasts in 1949 are still a Pirates record, and his 127 RBI in both of those seasons rank second-all time in Pittsburgh history.

Kiner played with the Pirates until 1953, when he was traded to the Cubs midseason. He’d stay in the Windy City for a season before playing the final year of his career with Cleveland, hanging up his cleats after the 1955 campaign.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. While he doesn’t lead the Pirates in career homers, he still holds the two best single-seasons in franchise history in that regard. With that being said, how many of the players with the most home runs in one season for each NFL team can you name in five minutes?

Good luck!
