The 'Most 200-K MLB seasons' quiz

The 2026 Major League Baseball postseason gets underway on Tuesday, with the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies getting proceedings started at 2:00 pm EST.

The Braves finished six-games above the Phillies to win the National League East and generally dominated the season series, going 9-4 and out-scoring Philadelphia by 23 runs in those 13 games. 

Atlanta will trot out 2024 Cy Young winner Chris Sale in Game 1 of the best-of-3 Wild Card series, who is 3-0 with 29 strikeouts and a 2.08 ERA in 26 innings across four starts against the Phillies in 2026. The future Hall of Famer has been generally excellent once again this season, posting a 2.16 ERA and allowing just a major league-lowest 0.6 home runs per nine innings. 

Going against a Phillies lineup that has depended on the long-ball most of the season and could be without Luis Arraez due to an ankle injury, Sale should be champing at the bit to take the mound. 

Which brings us to today’s quiz.  Sale finished the 2026 campaign with exactly 200 strikeouts, the ninth time in his 16-year career he’s reached that milestone. With that being said, can you name every pitcher to strike out at least 200 batters in at least five MLB seasons?
