Happy 87th birthday to three-time MLB All-Star, 1982 World Series champion and 16-time Gold Glove-winning pitcher, Jim Kaat!
Kaat played in 25 MLB seasons for five different teams, with 15 of those coming with the Minnesota Twins – who were still the Washington Senators for the first two years of Kaat’s career. Kaat retired after the 1983 season with a career ERA of 3.45 to go with 2,461 strikeouts and 283 wins in 898 games. He was inducted into the Pro Baseball Hall of Fame in the class of 2022.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Kaat’s 16 Gold Gloves are the second-most in MLB history. With that being said, how many of the players with at least nine Gold Gloves in their career can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
