For the second season in a row, Shohei Ohtani is both a World Series champion and National League Most Valuable Player.
After hitting .282 with 55 home runs and 102 RBIs and making his return to the mound as a starting pitcher to the tune of a 2.87 ERA and 62 strikeouts in 47 innings, he unsurprisingly won the award unanimously. It is Ohtani’s third-straight MVP designation and fourth of his career, putting him in elite company across professional sports in the United States. He joined only Barry Bonds as players to win the award four times in MLB, and became the first person in the Big 4 leagues (MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL) to win a championship and MVP in both of his first two seasons with a team.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Ohtani now has two MVP awards in the National League to go along with the pair he won in the American League. With that being said, can you name every National League MVP in Major League Baseball’s Integration Era (since 1947)?
Good luck!
